Okay this might be a one time deal. But I just have so many feelings about this movie that I just had to throw my two cents into the mixture. This won’t be long. And I’ll try to be quick. ——— To be completely honest. I never got around to reading the comics. For the Avengers, and all the individual hero follow up movies, I decided to separate the two (comic- movie). I treated all 5 movies (Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Avengers) as their own story/universe. I didn’t judge anything too critically. In fact the only things I judged were 1. the script, 2. cinematography, 3. the acting, and 4. the CG. I wanted to watch a superhero/action packed movie. I got a superhero/action packed movie. And I keep seeing a lot of hipster-esque remarks like: ‘OH YOU GUYS DON’T EVEN LIKE THE COMICS. ONLY HERE BECAUSE THEY’RE HOT’ ‘BET HALF THESE PEOPLE DIDN’T READ THE COMICS’ etc. etc. And my response to those people? I respect you for being a true fan. But get over it. As long as they don’t screw up the character’s persona/look/backstory? It’s all good. (at least for me)
SORRY Got off track! It was a light rant moment.
REAL THOUGHTS HERE
Anywho. I found Avengers to be WONDERFUL and so tastefully done. You can clearly see that Whedon had a vision for this movie. He knew exactly what he wanted and how he wanted it delivered. And he succeeded. I think that this is the first time I’ve watched a superhero movie… and I couldn’t for the life of me have a favorite character. Not because they were terrible. But because they each had their own moments leading up to the finale. You see different sides of each character and you see each character’s individual charismatic quirks. Everything, from weakness to strength, was evenly distributed and no one character overshadowed another.
Also, I don’t think I’ve ever experienced such a high adrenaline rush when watching a superhero movie. Like.. I literally had my mouth agape during the entire movie, sat at the edge of my seat, and didn’t even lose focus/get annoyed when the little boy sitting next to me kept kicking my leg.
I also love how Whedon didn’t take himself too seriously with this movie. You can tell that they had fun with this. The spots of humor thrown in were so memorable and awesomely wonderful.
And when Agent Coulson died? I CRIED LIKE A BABY. I CAN’T HIDE MY SHAME He was just so adorable during this movie and his fanboy moments with Captain America were just.. hilariously precious.
Not gonna lie? Walking into this? I just didn’t like the Hulk. Probably because the movies they came out for him SUCKED. (Though I was told that the second movie was actually quite good) But when I was leaving the theater? I grew a giant soft spot for the guy. Watching him flailing around Loki brought me so much joy. Hahaha (just wanted to share a few of my feels with you)
Anywho. In a word? THIS MOVIE WAS AMAZINGLY ,WH R@Q$UNQ@JMROWIRQ NO WORDS COULD EXPRESS, AWESOME.
If you were kind/patient enough to read this? Thanks. C: Now to book tickets to watch it on IMAX. HAHAHAHA!
And all these Avengers ‘ships being posted on tumblr are really starting to creep me out
I know this is my art Tumblr for posting progress and final pieces… But…. there’s so much Avenger goodness that I can’t leave this page and go to my other account. So… SORRY GUYS FOR THE AVENGER OVERLOAD.
You can stop following me for a while. At least until I watch the movie another 4 times. \(owo)/
